Smoke means fire!
Two sweet neighbor kids came to my door yesterday to see if Benson could play. I hurriedly put his swim clothes on and put some meatballs and marinara in a pot on the stove to heat for dinner. Benson had a blast playing on a slip and slide and I enjoyed some adult interaction. Mitch came home and walked over and talked to us. After a few minutes we decided it was time to go and eat dinner and play time was over.
As soon as Mitch opened the door, smoke started billowing out! It was dark and hard to breath in the house and Benson started to cry because it was scary and his parents were running around like crazy people trying to stop the smoke. The meatballs were burning and filling our house with stinky smoke. It took about 20 minutes to be able to even go in the house without choking on smoke!
We now are fighting the smell that lodged itself into all of our cupboards, closets, pillows, and clothes. I certainly made a mess for us! I have learned my lesson with meatballs. They cannot be left alone at least not under my care!
Check out some photos of the mess.

It's normally NOT this dark in house in the middle of the day!
Can you see you little boy in this photo?
Gross.
PS. My fantastic husband took care of the pan and all of the stove top mess.

The doctor said. . .
Girl.
Pretty sure it's a girl.
There is a margin of error, but I really think it's a girl.
All of you smart people that voted girl were CORRECT! Pat yourselves on the back. Good job!
I get to go back in 3 weeks instead of 4 because I didn't like the "margin of error." So, you that voted for boy, could still be right, but for now, the girl voters are the winners. For now, I'm not going to hesitate to buy dresses and bows.
PS. I voted girl myself. This pregnancy has seemed different but I never could be sure because I've been taking Zofran. Poll totals were 6 votes boy (28%) and 15 votes girl (71%)!

Week 27
As I logged in to post week 27 I was surprised to see that the poll is currently at 75% voting girl and 25% voting boy. Only a couple more weeks to see which of you are right! It's obvious that many more of my friends are facebookers than are bloggers. I only had 9 votes (one of which were mine) until I posted the poll on facebook. I now have 16!

Week 26 ~ Poll ~ Carnival/Fun Run Invite for ALL
I added a poll just because I thought it'd be fun to see what all of your guesses are. I hope to know for sure the beginning of next month. Give it a guess and I'll post it when I find out.
I have my guess.
I was right last time, let's see if I have the motherly instinct still!
Also, PLEASE check out this flyer.
The flyer explains it all, but I would like to restate how great of a cause this is! I personally know Dennie and he is VERY deserving of this. What a FUN activity for your family as well. I plan to attend and hope to see many of my friends there.
Invite anyone and everyone that you know, especially the runners!
Feel free to post the flyer on your blog/facebook/or google+!

Week 24 + My only cure for chocolate addiction
So, I had no intention of sharing this information at least for another month or so.
BUT
rumors are spreading fast, curiosities are on the rise, and private blogs are read by many. . .
On May 21 (the day that was supposed to be the end of many people) we learned that a new life was starting in our family. It's official. I am expecting. Because of this, I dropped out of running Ragnar (creating much curiosity), I've been forced to "spill the beans" to some coworkers (starting rumors), and I've just had to let some close friends know. "What? You don't want chocolate?" This is a highly unlikely answer unless, of course, I'm pregnant. Pregnancy IS the only cure I've found for chocolate addiction.
I had planned on posting this news at about 12 weeks, but here it is now. Confirming those rumors and curiosities. According to my iPhone app, I'm just shy of 9 weeks. If only it was 12 weeks, or even 23. . .
It's not a secret to anyone that knew me the last time I was pregnant, that I absolutely HATE LOATH being pregnant. I told Mitch to please get me into some serious mental counseling the next time I even considered this. I'm not in counseling, but if you could just remind me how insanely worth it this is, I'd appreciate it.
That's the thing. It's worth it. Hanging out with my Benson confirms just how worth it all the tiredness, sickness, and all-the-other-crummy-symptoms are. We need another little angel in our home and if this is how they come, I'll endure. Maybe without a smile, counting down the days, and with complaints, but I'll endure nonetheless.
